IIAR has just announced the new release of standard 2. It is titled ANSI/IIAR 2 – 2014 and it is now available. When IIAR 2 – 2008 with associated addendums were released we saw many suggested changes and additions. What changes and additions will we expect with this new standard?
The new and improved IIAR 2 is the definitive design safety standard of the ammonia refrigeration industry – IIAR 2 has undergone extensive revision since the 2008 (with Addendum B) edition was published on December 3, 2012. A major focus of changes made to this edition has been incorporating topics traditionally addressed in other codes and standards so that IIAR 2 can eventually serve as a single, comprehensive standard covering safe design of closed-circuit ammonia refrigeration systems.
IIAR will host an education program on the newly revised IIAR 2 at the 2016 IIAR Industrial Refrigeration Conference & Exhibition in Orlando, FL on March 20th. The IIAR 2 Education Program will include discussion and thought processes on how the updated version of IIAR 2 is applied and how it compares to the old version of the standard. It will include changes that have occurred and the major impact it will have on the industry today.
