This last week GCAP rehearsed an ammonia leak and trained on how to handle incidental releases and determine when to initiate the emergency action plan and/or response. Nothing better than training with live hands-on approach based upon our facility and our procedures.
If you have a leak what should be answered by muscle memory?
- Where is the leak?
- Ammonia detection?
- Ventilation?
- High side or low side?
- Liquid or Gas?
- Can the leak be isolated?
Below is a section of GCAP’s Ammonia Leak Procedure we use as part of our PSM/RMP class!
