The Deloraine Fire Department went out and did some anhydrous training. This is awesome training! Great job and a hats off to the department! It’s amazing what you can do with water if done correctly. For anyone that is not familiar with anhydrous the huge white cloud that is coming out of the wagon shown in the videos could seriously injure someone or even could be fatal if they got caught in it. That being said we would like for everyone to know that this is an extremely dangerous exercise to perform with out the proper training and should not be done without experienced personnel. What you don’t see in the video is that two pumper units were used with one hose line ran from each of them in the event one of them failed. Both units were putting out maximum gallonage at maximum pressure. Both nozzles are set at almost full fan but are adjusted to capture as much of the discharge as possible. Once again if any Departments are going to try this make sure you have someone there with NH3 training and start with a small discharge until you are completely comfortable dealing with it.
