If your mindset leads you to believe you’re responding to ‘’just another false alarm,’’ then your guard will be down. Not only can this cause you to be physically under prepared for the potential of the situation, it can also cause you to be mentally under prepared for the potential dangers it holds. Ultimately, continuous false alarms will lead to complacency. “It’s just another NH3 alarm” triggers the mind and the body behaves accordingly. In the mindset of disappointment, it is more difficult to be prepared for the reality of what may exist such as a true ammonia release.
This summer we asked CTI to give a presentation on ammonia sensors and false alarms. At this link you can download their presentation.
